Cry for Help
Charcoal and Watercolor on Paper
This drawing’s purpose is to depict the message that you aren’t alone and all you need to do is ask for help sometimes.
Hurt Heart
Magazine collage and Charcoal on Paper
In this collage/drawing, I used the technique in the border to show the cracks that harmful words can make in someone’s heart. This piece also brings together themes of blue tone and body parts to represent sadness and pain.
Hold On
Charcoal Collage on Paper
This drawing/collage represents hope. It was inspired by Michelangelo’s fresco titled “The Creation of Adam.”
Rock Bottom
Watercolor Charcoal Collage
To me, this collage displays the dual nature of the voices in your head caused by depression, inspired by the overall portfolio theme of my mental health journey. The watercolor tone of blue depicts the melancholy and cloud of sadness felt in this state of mind, where inside all you can feel is darkness. This collage also represents my use of nature as a symbol within my portfolio to connect the journey of mental health growth and healing that isn’t always linear.
